This activity gives you full access and covers the cost of admission into the site. You are provided with a trail guide and all materials to complete our interactive stations. This activity would be teacher led and not assisted by NWC staff. Please note each school is required to do their own risk assessment before their visit.

Mother Nature’s Art
Discover the colours, textures, materials shapes and sounds of nature. Use your senses to find wildlife and collect woodland materials to create a natural art work.
We’re going on a Bear Hunt
Here we bring this classic book to life discovering the Bluebell woods in our own Bear Hunt. Children will explore the woods and take part in a Bear Hunt of their own.
Key Stage One and Two workshops
Habitats and Minibeasts
Why do creatures live where they do? What is a habitat? Children will explore habitats and build their own. Children will then design a creature with special features that can live in that habitat.
Could you survive in the woods? A Hands on session working in a team designing and making a shelter in the woods.
Bird Winter Warmer (Sept – March)
How do birds survive the winter? Here we will help develop empathy for our feathered friends and help them out through the winter months.
Willow Weaving Winter Decorations (Sept – March)
Collect natural resources to design and make a natural winter decoration from Willow.
CONTINUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Here we will support you in discovering a range of cross curricular ideas that encourage learning outside the classroom. Workshops are run by educational professionals and include a free outdoor learning toolkit full of resources to use with your own groups. We can also runs workshops to support Eco schools in schools providing you with ideas and activities that fit in with Eco school award.
FOREST SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

The National Wildflower Centre Forest School aims to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.
Individuals will take part in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities in our very special woodland environment.
Forest Schools will aim to develop:

- Good social communication skills
- A positive mental attitude, self-esteem and confidence
This time and reflective practice develops understanding of the world, the environment and everything within it through the use of emotions, imagination and senses.
