A familiar native annual which self seeds freely, abundant throughout Britain in arable fields, waste places and disturbed ground.  The large scarlet flowers attract bees.  Flowers from June to August.

Height: 20-60cm (8-24in).

Planting site: Full sun on any dryish soil.
